FRANCES DEWEY is an associate producer who has worked primarily in documentary film.
Frances began her career in film festivals and in 2021 was the manager of Double Exposure, a festival and symposium that explores the intersection of documentary filmmaking and investigative journalism. At Double Exposure Frances worked under festival veteran Sky Sitney, then its director. During Frances’ tenure, MovieMaker named Double Exposure one of the 25 coolest film festivals in the world.
In 2022 Frances joined Drifting Cloud Productions, working as an assistant to emmy-winning filmmaker Lana Wilson (Miss Americana, The Departure, After Tiller). Frances quickly moved into a production role at drifting cloud and would work closely with Wilson on three titles: Look Into My Eyes (A24), which the National Board of Review named one of the five best documentaries of the year; Jailbreak: Love on the Run (netflix), which was the #1 movie on netflix upon its release; and Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields (hulu/abc news studios), which garnered multiple emmy nominations.
Most recently, Frances was an associate producer on Emmy-winning filmmaker David Osit’s Predators, which had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and was named a New York Times Critic’s Pick. MTV Documentary Films acquired Predators and released it in theaters this fall.
Frances holds a B.A. in Classics from Georgetown University with a minor in Film and Media Studies.
